You will have seen news reports of the Conservative party’s plans to put a cap on the number of foreign workers coming into the UK. I do not wish to make any party political points, as I am sure even the Labour party if it comes into power will be looking to address this issue in its own way.
A large group of London companies have already protested at having an arbitrary “cap” as opposed to the current criteria based approach under Tiers 1 and 2.
In short, business immigrations will get further tightened whoever comes into power, and this will affect any business which relies upon skilled workers from abroad such as IT engineers and technical staff from countries like India. The following article in the FT is worth reading:
